Need to Buy an Apartment? Here’s How
The decision to buy an apartment is a big one. There are many things you need to know before buying an apartment, and that’s why we at North Gaia are here!
First, you need to consider what type of apartment you want to buy. For example, do you want to live in a city or suburb?
Second, make sure the area offers all of your amenities. For example, if you like running outside at night do not buy an apartment that does not have good lighting for safety reasons.
Figure out how much rent is affordable based on your budget and income. It’s common to spend 30% – 40% of monthly net salary (after taxes) on housing expenses which include maintenance fees (heating/cooling), property tax (rates) water rates (if applicable), condominium management fee etc.—some homes may require additional payment towards utilities depending upon usage type—water , gas electricity . Utilities are usually paid by tenant however some landlords might it onto them so check with management first.
Check what appliances are included with the apartment. For example, is there a dishwasher? Does it come with air conditioning/heating units? Some landlords include kitchen cabinets while others don’t—it depends on your landlord and property management company (if applicable). Fifth , make sure that you know who pays for water damage or damages to the unit before signing any contracts .
Find out if pets are allowed in your building. If yes, determine whether they will be allowed into common areas of the building like laundry rooms etc.. Finally , do some research about condominiums before buying an apartment; this way you can learn more about housing laws and bylaws which outline responsibilities between tenants and owners when it comes to maintaining the property.
